The Family Series™
Wrapper: Ecuador or Costa Rica
Binder: Costa Rica
Filler: Honduras and Nicaragua
The Family Series is exquisitely constructed and beautifully presented. The Babe and Pasha are wrapped with a delicately flavored Costa Rican capa. This mild-to-medium bodied blend is well balanced with a light and creamy taste that has a hint of both spice and sweetness on the finish.
The Alison and Little Bill have the added intensity of an Ecuadorian wrapper that is perfumed and velvety. The naturally fermented, aged ligero filler is a highlight of this blend, creating a medium-bodied smoke with smooth, spicy notes.
Size: 7.25 x 50 - The “Pasha” is named for Bill’s father, William S. Paley. As founder and chairman of CBS, William reached into every home in America. It was his interest in promoting the sales of the family cigar company through the use of radio that led him to the broadcasting business. Though known as “The Chairman” at work, he was jokingly known as “Pasha” at home.
Size: 5.25 x 50 - The “Babe” is named for Bill’s mother, Barbara “Babe” Cushing Paley. As Truman Capote once observed, Babe was a woman of “only one fault… she was perfect. Otherwise, she was perfect.” Babe was one of the last century’s great tastemakers, an icon of fashion and style. She maintained her position on the best-dressed list fourteen times before being inducted into the Fashion Hall of Fame in 1958.
Size: 6 x 52 - The “Alison” is dedicated to Bill’s wife, Alison Van Metre Paley, whose support and encouragement have made La Palina’s revival possible.
Size: 4.5 x 52 - The “Little Bill” is named for Bill Paley himself. The family called him Little Bill to distinguish him from his father.
